Today's project... (Mesh Halloween Wreath)

Technically yesterday's but I haven't slept yet, so it's still today.

Four years ago today Cody asked me to be his girlfriend. Yes I know once you get married it doesn't count anymore, but I'll find any reason to celebrate. So, we went out to eat one of my favorites, Thai Food.
Om nom nom rice.

Then I went to Hobby Lobby (my wallet gasps every time I say that name). Bought stuff to make a wreath.

So when I got home I did just that.
I had a lady order a mesh Halloween wreath (my favorite). I like to make wreaths during holidays for extra cash.

Anyways, I thought I'd put how I make my wreaths on here.... So here we go

Hobby Lobby list:
Halloween Plaque
10" deco mesh roll black
5 1/2" deco mesh roll orange
Wreath frame (8 sections)
Pipe cleaner (16)
Two/three rolls of ribbon

I cut the mesh about 6 inches in length, enough for it to roll around (I think it looks better that way). You can also cut the orange mesh the same way at this time.
Then I add the pipe cleaners to the frame.
I put pipe cleaners on every sectioned area and in the middle of the sections. So 16 in all.
Then for the mesh we were working on above I take two pieces and cut them in half.
Two pieces...
So there's 4 pieces, now to add them to the wreath!
Lay them on the pipe cleaner, I have learned to do two pieces one way then twist the pipe cleaner (twice) then do the other two pieces the other way. Like a cross to cover more area of the wreath.
I wait to add in the accents of orange but you can do this now if you want.

Just continue this all the way around.
Also when you get toward the end of the circle I like to go ahead and attach the plaque.
I used pipe cleaners to attach to the back and wrapped them around the wreath frame several times for security. Then finished adding the mesh.

When I got to the point of the picture  above I realized it needed more orange so I added more..
Much better, but we still need ribbon.

I decided on black and white polka spot (not dot) and Moroccan shaped orange and white ribbon.
I cut 6" strips. 8 of each pattern.
Then I cut the ends into a "V" I think it makes it look nicer. I'll have to take a picture (I forgot, silly me).
So then I add a ribbon, alternating patterns, to each pipe cleaner.

As for the extra parts of the pipe cleaners, I like to twist them around a pencil to make them little curlies. Or you can just tuck them around the ribbon to hide them.

I know the suspense is killing you! 😂

 Here's the finished product!!!!!!!!!!

It may not be some peoples taste but it's probably my favorite I have made so far.

Yay wreath!

Alright I should be asleep, so I'll do that.
